Congratulations to Aime Bizimana for successfully completing the ILO’s online Global Youth Forum 2020 course.
Aime Bizimana is the Academic Manager at Youth Education and Sports, Aime has been working in the Education Sector for many years and is experienced in digital learning. He has been supporting online learners to access higher education on different platforms for the last 3 years in Kakuma. Last month, through a scholarship awarded to him by the International Labor Organization, Aime had the fascinating opportunity to attend a training course on youth employment and decent work at the International Training Center, international Labor Organization (ITCILO) from 10th to 28th August 2020. The focus of the training was on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Participants in the training also had the opportunity to learn from different speakers from different international NGOs who shared their work experience and how they are working toward the great achievements of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Learning from the ILO on decent work is of particular relevance to a refugee-led organisation like YES as it promotes social-justice-based approaches to strengthening education provision in contexts of forced displacement. This year’s pandemic has demonstrated just how crucially important local organisations are in maintaining access to education and support the provision of essential services to refugees.
Congratulations, Aimé for obtaining this scholarship and for sharing your knowledge with the community!
