“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it. ” Mariam Wright Edelman said. She is right.

The prospects for success are bleak if a student drops out because in today’s world the education one has acquired influences largely the chances to succeed.

Youth Education and Sports (YES) in its mission of providing safe and innovative spaces for accessing formal education have launched a new diploma course “Diploma in Education in Emergencies” from the University of Nairobi ( UoN ).

This 4 semester diploma course in education in emergencies is at the disposal of all teachers with no formal education training or students who finished form four with a C- and above in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

Students who complete this Diploma will gain knowledge that will help them teach in low-resource and emergency contexts. They will learn essential skills in teaching in a diverse and multicultural classroom so that even the vulnerable can strive.
